KGU School of Policy Studies: Murata Seminar ×SIS Seminar Colaboration

Saturday 8 April 2017  @Uegahara campus

SIS seminar students and KGU students of Mr Shunichi Murata Seminar of Kwansei Gakuin, School of Policy Studies had a collaborative seminar.

Taking on the topic given by Murata sensei using the international development case method, students were exposed to a very real situation with all its complexities, reading for a month and a half in preparation.

Students presented their solutions to the question "what should we do with this situation" in groups comprised of 3rd and 4th year students from Murata sensei's university tutorial, and 2nd and 3rd year Senri HS students.

Following the  long deliberated conclusions, students were given advice and comment by Murata sensei, Senri HS principal Tanaka sensei, Tsudaka sensei and Tokito sensei from Kwansei Gakuin's center for Research Into and Promotion of Higher Education. This in turn lead some lively debate.

The second half of the session was dominated by a poster session from the grade 12 Senri HS students, prompting deeper discussion of the topics from the university students and faculty which pointed to some further ideas for continued research.

This really was a great collaborative project between Senri International School student and their KG University counterparts. Thank you to everyone who contributed. Special thanks for the efforts of teachers, leading professors and all participants.
